Goldfield Trim & Upholstery opened for business in 1986. Owner Gary Martin is a 1984 graduate of the McPherson College Auto Restoration program. While at McPherson College he studied under Julian "Pop" Rice for one semester. Gary served as an Assistant Professor of Technology in the Auto Restoration Program from 1998-2000.
Vehicles with interiors by Goldfield Trim have won several national level awards through the Antique Automobile Club of America. Some cars have received national recognition through marque specific clubs such as DeSoto, Packard, and Studebaker. For the custom builders, three vehicles have made the covers of national magazines.
Goldfield Trim restored the interior soft trim to factory original specifications on a 1956 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman two door hardtop. The car sold for a record setting $137,500 at the 2009 Russo and Steele Monterey auction.
Gary is a life member and Master level judge of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He also belongs to the Horseless Carriage Club & the Pontiac-Oakland Club International.
