About Us

Since 1986

Goldfield Trim & Upholstery opened for business in 1986. Owner Gary Martin is a 1984 graduate of the McPherson College Auto Restoration program. While at McPherson College he studied under Julian "Pop" Rice for one semester. Gary served as an Assistant Professor of Technology in the Auto Restoration Program from 1998-2000.

Vehicles with interiors by Goldfield Trim have won several national level awards through the Antique Automobile Club of America. Some cars have received national recognition through marque specific clubs such as DeSoto, Packard,  and Studebaker. For the custom builders, four vehicles have made the covers of national magazines.

Goldfield Trim stays true to restorations and the follow though of our work is exceptional. We use the correct materials and methods to execute a top quality finished product, even going as far to source period correct tacks to ensure a quality restoration.

Gary is a life member and Senior Master level judge of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He also belongs to the Horseless Carriage Club & the Pontiac-Oakland Club International. Since 2016 Gary has served as the Chief Judge for the Des Moines Concours de Elegance.
